M1 Helmet No. 9631

Article about: sounds about right to me .judging from the heatstamp its quiet big so mid 60's would fit it quiet well .cheers

    Default M1 Helmet No. 9631


    Hi, New here so bear with me. I have a M1 Helmet No. on it is 9631 and the seem is in the back. I beleive the edging is stainless. It is non Magnetic. It has swivel bails. and I picked it up at a yard sale and someone
    had striped the layers of paint off of it. Can anyone date or tell me anything about these M1 helmets

    I hope this helps and If you look close on the third pic you wil see the 9631 in the helmet.

    interesting helmet looks like maybe a post WW2 heatstamp ? nick should be able to give more info or one of the other members .cheers !

    yes i agree with dave .the pictures are far to small to see a darn thing .if you could upload bigger separate pictures that would be good .cheers

    Is the "9631" stamped near the left side chin strap swivel? I have a few 1980s Canadian surplus M1s that are stamped with numbers starting with 96. Your M1 could be one of the last produced.... just saying maybe, Im by no means an expert.

    No, the stamp is right in front center of the helmet.
