Has anybody an idea about the front painting/insigina of this helmet shell?

Is this a late WWII era, or Korea era helmet? i'm not sure about this.

Have bought this helmet some months ago. Infortunately the former owner tried to repair the stress cracks.

The helmet shell is rear seam, swivel bails, inside stamped "1262D" .

Nice looking lid you got there, just a wild guess , but it looks like seargant stripes with a star so maybe US airforce ????

Good M1 mate, i like it when they have mystery markings gives you something to research.

I have what i think is a US airforce lid, check it out in my profile!!

It is definitely USAF, but it is WW2 production as can be seen from the cork texture.
