Hi, can i have some opinions on this lid and liner?
Its a swivel bale, front seam, its 980D and apears to be a repaint.
Whats the date period?
Thanks.
Cheers.

Liner is made by International Molded Plastics.
well with a heat stamp number that high it would date around September 1944 witch makes it a bit odd to be front seamed by this time the seam had been moved to the rear ?
Hi, it looks ww2 vintage as you have a front seam and the canvas webbing is also a sandy colour. Is the steel helmet strap sown to the swivel bales? if so that will be contempory to a ww2 schell. Looks OK to me apart from the poor condition plus missing it's inner fittings!!
Its not in the best condition, i admit.
But i like it.
I had an idea, it would be around 1944/1945, but with Nick`s Expertise.
Im glad it was determined to be September 1944.
Thank you both for your reply`s.
Cheers.

i always thought it was november 44 they changed to rear seam,is this inacurate nick?cheers dave.
i was always under the same impression ?
mind you nick we were discussing on another thread the variations in books,Nuno's heat stamp in my opinion isn't rare as i've seen front seams as high as 1140,rear seamed from 1150 onwards up to around 1300,used to have one with 1138 so not rare i dont think, and HELMETS OF THE ETO show the same McCord time lines as well,so i think that chart is pretty much correct, cheers dave.
