Here I have a Front Seam Swivel Bale Schlueter helmet with the stamp of 274A. It has blackened steel fixtures on the chin straps. The rim appears to be manganese and not stainless steel. If I had to estimate on a manufacturing date just on the helmets features I would say mid to late 1944. Schlueter manufactured around 2 million helmets during WW2 compared to McCord’s nearly 20 million helmets, which makes Schlueter helmets a rarer helmet to come by
The liner is made by Westinghouse and features green OD triangular washers which places the production between early 1943 to mid 1944. Westinghouse was the main liner producer, manufacturing 23 million units which accounted for over 50% of liners produced by all the companies combined.
The helmet comes fitted with an Australian helmet net.
Thanks for looking guys
