Thanks James, i think you get some personal satisfaction from it, not for the purist but we can not let them rot out of respect to those brave men.

Do I see remnants of a Heer decal Steve? Shame about the hole, Looks to be a small caliber exiting out and upwards from top of the shell. I forgot to say.. If you find the paint to be really stubborn, Sometimes I find putting some of the stripper solution directly onto either thick wire wool or sandpaper then going at can work better. Cheers, Sean.
cheers bud, yes to the decal, and the bullet what the hell happened there?
i will try solvent and sandpaper on the next run?
maybe he blew his own brains out
It is a peculiar one and from the pics it looks like it is straight as an arrow out the top, Could you post close up some pics of the hole inside and out when you get a chance please Steve. Again though a great shell for the money disregarding the hole! Cheers, Sean.
Well it certainly looks period, A real interesting one! Like you said about the M1.. If only it could talk! Cheers, Sean.
stamped ET64 4001, this helmet will have a thread of its own in due course, i cant loose sight of the M1 for a while yet.
