took a closer look at the chin strap & found this
Sorry to have taken so long.............I'll post some I've found like yours
in a day or two.
I have quite a few and must dig them out of the storage
cabinets to photograph them first ! !
thats cool i look forward to seeing them
Found a few, not quite the same, but should be interesting....
Now to find the space and time - I'll remove nets, covers, liners and take pics......
cool cant wait
Here's a couple of shots.....
I can photograph close-up individual helmets if you like....
Fixed bale, WWII.
Most of these are swivel bale and have modern chin straps.
The helmet with the name "SKINNER" is a front seam swivel bale as pictured...
Just behind the netting of the shot above can be seen the replacement type strap clip.
There are a broad mix of liners..... !
great collection of reissued lids you have there mate
thanks for taking the time to post these but if you ever get the time to get pic's of each lid that would be so cool
Thanks,
That's a good term - reissued - as I think they range from WWII, into the 80's
or 90's when the Canadian Army started using Kevlar.
I don't think the "Magic Marker" pen was invented until the 60's........
i just think this type of lid have got so much more character to them if only they could talk i bet they would have great stories to tell
