I've done some digging too, there isn't a lot online about the "Flaming Missiles." It seems they were in Korea during or after the war.
After that there is a little about them being stationed in the New York area. They were a National Guard outfit.
The liner fits the info, probably made late fifties, with the front eyelet, dark green paint and the dark OD7 webbing.
Best Regards,
Andy

Well I'm getting close to WWII.This is how collections start, back to ebay.....
Ok,some more info. Its got a cross in the crown with CAPAC both vertical and horizontal with a 5 just outside the lower left corner of the cross and a 1 on the right. On the back outside it has what looks to be two chevrons with a T below. And it has George and the number 13531834 in white paint inside ,it does have a last name to but its scratched off.
One more twist to this story. The rank on the back of the liner is apparently a Tec 5 which was only used from 42 to 48 so.....Is it post war or not? I tried to find a double marking in the crown as I read that Capac liners were made during and post war but I only could find the Capac mark. I'm not sure what it is but the T5 rank has me confused
That appears to be a "Spec5", or Specialist 5, not Tech. Same concept as the "tech" ranks, but the insignia was changed in the 50's.
