    I meant to ask Jake... Can you tell if the shell itself is Vietnam era? The heat stamp is 502 if that helps? Regards. Sean.

    dont be to downhearted sean ,ive learnt the hard way in headgear collecting many times and still probably will ,if selling on i would be tempted to retain the mitchell cover though even if it is for training use for the identification of individual men as they dont come along very often ,and you could always use the reverse side (autumn pattern ) for display use on another m1 ,just my thoughts cheers james

    Sean shell was made between 1970-1976,but being only 502 most likely around 1971 or 1973,good luck with finding your dream m1c and if you need help you know where I am..................Jake.
