    Default Original Medic Helmet?

Hello everyone, i was just wondering if this was an original Medic helmet. i checked out the names and serial numbers but they did not come up in the site you guys recommended to me. I think that the names are not real but there might be a chance its a medic helmet. you guys are the experts so i will leave it to you, thanks for the help in advance. either way i will bid on it, not too much though, in case its a "messed with" helmet, but a helmet none the less.

Hi, for ten dollars i would bid on it, in my opinion, just the liner is worth alot more than then starting bid.
    Cheers.

General Patton, I'd say it WAS a medic helmet ! A bit dented,
but if around $40 or $50, not too bad I guess. Still, there
    are better helmets out there.................

Be prepared to spend a lot on a nice, original medic lid.

Maybe you'll get lucky and be the only bidder !
    Regards,

    Steve.

AWESOME!!! I've always wanted a medic helmet. I know its dented up and missing paint but this is perfect for me! So the paint is original? What do you guys think of the names? Is it world war 2?

I know there are better ones out there but im not prepared to spend that much!

What I meant was, it looks like it used to be a medic helmet.

It has replaced straps, a broken liner chinstrap, and is
missing some liner webbing, but you could
    carefully bang the dents out.............

I acknowledge your enthusiasm towards it, so I hope
you can get it for as little as possible, if you think
it is the one for you. Remember that the
postage will be quite great = $20+.

Do you know what era this is from?

Thank you for pointing all that out, it is good to know, I will look the helmet over again.

The liner looks like ww2 but what about the shell?

A typical WWII helmet will have fixed bales, and late WWII are supposed
to be the swivel type, which were commonly used up to the 1980's.
The colour and texture of the shell is ok.

The shell and liner do look like WWII era, but the liner surface
may have been repainted - hard to tell - the colour seems
    too bright in the photo.

If it rings your bell - go for it. Put in a $20 bid
    and cross your fingers............!

I think ill put a 25 bid, it will be my first WW2 steel pot helmet and medic helmet (two birds on stone)

What do you think of the two names? Real or do you think its just a story to go with it?

And are the places to buy original ww2 straps and leather straps?

I'd leave the straps as they are. Later versions of the leather chinstrap
can be found on-line or ebay, but that's all I would want to add,
other than a helmet net, maybe.

Those names could be from WWII or later. You can try and
research them in the U.S. National Archives now,
    before you even buy it.

I know there are guys here who know of other places
to search for WWII American service records..........
    Regards,
