Painted M1 - Swivel Bale - 69th ID

I was looking for another helmet in my storage bin this morning and saw this one. It is a salty swivel bale M1, with what is what I believe to be a one look original WWII painted 69th ID insignia on the shell. On close inspection it appears that there are earlier renditions of the insignia underneath the one that is there now. When I bought the helmet it had the early rayon webbed Westinghouse liner, but the liner was probably a post war bride, as I have been told earlier today that the heat stamp on the shell puts it in the mid '44 time period. The 69th fought in Europe, and went into action in 1945. Hope you like it. Cheers, Jim G.
PS The last picture is a post war 69th liner, not the exterior of the Westinghouse rayon webbed liner in the helmet. I don't know how to delete it. Sorry.
