Please Help with M1 markings
Hello all,
I have just purchased a heap of M1 helmets and I am having a blast identifying the various examples. However, a marking inside one M1 is proving to be very difficult to find any info about. The rear seam helmet is marked inside the front section; 'MWA50'. While I understand there is a way to set approx dates from these marks, I have not been able to find anything relating to this particular one. If it helps dating, there is an anchor mark on the chin straps.
I appreciate any assistance in deciphering this mystery M1. Thanks
Kind regards

Re: Please Help with M1 markings
Anchor chinstraps are Vietnam. As far as heat stamp, I'm on vacation so I can't check but I've never taken my covers off of the 60's helmets to see, I'll update once I'm back.

Agreed! Of course it would have been preferable that the previous owner left these two alone, but you gotta give it to him, 10 points for effort!
