    it could be? but it's too faded to tell what was there, it could just be rub marks?

    Whatever it is or isn't.. I can't even get just a common old helmet cover over here for that price!! let alone a genuine WW II relic.... well done!!!

    It's a Mk1A1 training grenade. Solid cast iron. There is also the Mk2 training grenade which more closely resembled the live version as it had screw on dummy fuse.

    yes, it's a casting with no movable parts, it's hollow inside, has the weight & feel of an original for throwing practice, another bargain priced item I picked up at the flea market mixed in with old rusty tools.
