Strange M1, Tiger head painting, Vietnam?

It kind of looks like the US tank destroyer emblem . With out the tank in the mouth.

First thoughts when seeing it was Vietnam era maybe a flower child motif see the heart in the hand band but there is yellow paint in the chip which tells me it was painted after the fact I think to make it appear as if it were old. I would like to see a close up of the paint.

It looks looks like a painted up ARVN helmet to me (sans star) and most probably/more than likely a fake like 99% of the "original wartime" ones that reside in collections are. I have seen 100's of these in the markets and militaria shops in Saigon on my trips over there, and they were all "genuine wartime original 100%" but one sniff of the glossy fresh weathered paint will tell you otherwise... Unless I got one with water tight rock solid provenance I would never touch one.

Also the shell is Vietnam era not ww2. Those heat stamp numbers correspond with Ingersoll Co.
