The helmet has a long history of parts. The liner is of course ww2 era and judging by the yellow may be a trainers helmet liner. The chevrons on the helmet are Air Force. The cover is dated to 1978 I believe with tape residue on the front. The leather chinstrap looks to be US and looks to be a green buckle, which if so I would be happy to trade or buy it from you. I do not know if they have been together for a long time or a recent marriage.

    Thanks Marty for this information.
I went trough many threads in this forum but I still do not know how you can set the date to 1978 for this helmet shell?
    Heat stamp in de shell = 8723 = 1978?

(sorry but I don't have the intention to get separated from this item)

Marty is saying the camo cover is from 1978. Not the steel pot.
