    so i was lookig at the writing on the back of my korean war navy helmet and wanted to know if you guys out there though that the 3-44 on the back as seen above in the thread would be the markings of a gunners helmet.

    Nope none are and if they were I wouldn't tell anyone because I'd buy em all lol. I won't get to keep any for my work either but it is a awesome opportunity to handle these that very few will ever experience in their collecting.

    Unique m1 navy helmet conversation The other hawley is a mint first pattern also. Thats all the pics I have left but when I start cataloging I will photograph each helmet.

    Hello this helmet is not navy I believe it is paratrooper, I have seen the marking before I believe it indicates where someone was located in the plane I remember seeing it somewhere but cannot remember I believe it was done in the 50s and early 60s

    I was wondering if 3-44 on the back of my navy grey helmet would be a sign of a gunner?
