Hi,
Can anybody identify what type of US helmet this is? The sides look odd (some kind of "hinge") where strap attaches to helmet. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I cant figure it out.

Carlson, Could this possibly be an American WWII bomber pilots helmet? I believe they wore an American steel pot with attachments for a device which covered the ears. I don't remember if it was simply more protection or communication device. It was so long ago my memory is kind of fuzzy about it. Worth checking into. John
This isn't any style American helmet that I have ever been aware of. Can't really tell you what it is.
