Had a few minutes this afternoon, thought I would take a few pictures of WW1 Chaplain headgear together. The setting is 1918 in a barn somewhere in Belgium.

    Thanks,
I needed to take a break from the kitchen remodel and thought “hey let’s go outside in 97 degree heat and take some pictures, that will be fun”

I recently received this helmet from a gentleman that I truly respect and I am honored that he allowed me to be the next caretaker of this helmet.
The helmet is currently being researched due the name that was found on the sweatband. The helmet is a reissue helmet and may be the name of the first recipient and not the chaplain,Geoff at Golden Arrow Research is checking for me.

What I know: the helmet is a early 1960’s issued m1 helmet that has a thick brushed field repaint. The helmet as a intricately painted cross on the helmet and liner and is the first one I’ve seen like this. I’m not sure if the helmet is a in country Vietnam regular army helmet or possibly a Guard/Reservist issued helmet.
