i went to the link as supplied by reneblacky and found 38 servicemen with the same name but alas i couldnt make a connection with state or occupation
guess some things are meant to remain a mystery......i dont think the bales on this one have been rewelded i will post some photos tomorrow so you can have a look
im becoming a m1 addict i want a front seam swivel bale now

yeah there's been no luck on the other site i posted it on either no one knows or no one is interested so sorry about that guess it will have to remain a mystery for now & to top it off you've now caught the M-1 bug

back again more photos bales,liner stamp etc....the liner is westinghouse with a d5 stamp not sure if you can get a date from that?

the D5 in the liner is a mould batch number so if you have two with the same number they came from the same mould as far as in know they cant be used to date liners.
