US M1 Helmet - Genuine or not?

hang on to that helmet, those fixed bails are getting really high in price. none of my 3 are fixed bailes, but they are also rear seams. take care.

no problem, I'm not an expert or anything, just I think my helmets were about the first things I bought, except one I got a couple of weeks ago, got it for a whopping 9.50, good thing I had an extra liner. take care

I thought the Head band looked unusual.

Good early fixed bale helmet with mid war liner. Take out the sweatband. Not period and detracts from the helmet.

it looks like it's in very good - excellent condition

the headband is the most common piece that they replaced, probably reused after WWII during Vietnam era and a new headband was installed by the last user

the date on the headband is a good indication of when it was last used, probably 1960's and later

Thanks battle gear, Im just glad its almost all original period. When you say reused, did they reissue the M1's or the original owner replaced the headband?
