well the helmet maybe VN era but the cover is not & from the style of it, it looks like a Kevlar helmet cover & not an M-1 cover if you look around the edge of it & it has Velcro tabs then it is a Kevlar cover ?

Maybe the NZ troops were issued a different style of cover. I see what you mean by it looking like the kevlar cover since it is a later camo pattern and has the reinforced stitching from fron to back. Take the cover off and photograph it spread out inside and out so you can be sure.

yes the cover is kevlar, it looks like what I had in desert storm . does it have 2 seams on it & like NICK said velcro tabs?
