As a footnote, I've found out that the "fuzz" of which there are traces left around the hinges, (I first thought it was a build up of dirt and rubbish)
is remains of a flock coating employed to stop things (hands etc) sticking to the helmet at high altitude sub zero temperatures. And I was debating whether to clean this off!

Thanks Phil, yes the top shelf is nearly complete, I'm waiting on some original wartime Air Force "Gee" navigational maps, used by USAAF/RAF Navigators to put on the wall behind, then it should be finished. For now....
M1's are my thing, but I do have a soft spot for the USAAF.
