Article about: hiya guys this little gem came up on eBay at a very reasonable buy it now offer it was sold as a Vietnam era generals helmet with star & cover. as you can see the liner is dated 27 sept

Hi, Nick. Sorry for the late reply on this.
It is a cool helmet with a very unusual cover ! I believe though, that the star
is a piece of costume glitz, seeing that it has multiple pointed fasteners.
Generals stars are normally either pin-back, clutch-back,
or for helmets, screw-back.........

well unfortunately i have no way of proving this is nothing more then fantasy piece its been suggested it may have been an advisers helmet with the use of this type of cover as for the star maybe they thought it looked better than the normal star they would have had but its all only guess work

Even if the star isn't original, I think it's a very nice display piece. The camo pattern looks oddly familiar though...
