Or the 70's I had a cardboard Hawley liner in basic training in 1971 repainted with nam era OD turned it in and got probably another ww2 firestone liner with kakhi suspension also as I remember we were told to turn the pressed cardboard ones in as they were ww2 and fragile mine was pretty frayed on the edges as I remember timothy

well the paint on both looks good to me. it is this color green with cork texture. the helmet was covered by a cover anyway. is there a number inside the helmet pot near the rim anywhere?
I don't own the helmet yet, but I think there is a number
