ww2 usmc m1 helmet discussion

hello, i know that we have had a bunch of threads asking if the usmc is real or not and some of you added your photos for reference. i thought, why not make a thread wheree we can all share our m1 helmets. i will start with mine that was used in ww2 and then the liner was probably changed when it was used in korea.

the insignia on the front is usmc? i have a patch sort of like that and it is airforce

Chris, this helmet has Air Force Staff Sergeant insignia. The helmet is obviously WWII, though. My guess is that it was used sometime between 1947 and the Korean War.

well you learn something new everyday. i didnt think they had any use for the m1 helmet in the airforce and i thought the closest thing they used to it was the flak helmet.
