Found it in Normandy,the liner is the one in the last picture.

well you learn something new everyday. i didnt think they had any use for the m1 helmet in the airforce and i thought the closest thing they used to it was the flak helmet.

Virtually every branch used the M1 at some point or another. I have even seen state police helmets that were painted blue.

Thank you.
That is the only one I have seen with that type of camo on it with a SS decal.
Most of the other one have the regular Normandy camo.

Here's my contribution regarding USMC helmets. The cover on this one is dated 1952 and the paint on the shell is in near mint condition. I think the liner chinstrap might be a repro, though.
