Hat looks ok the strap seems a little odd to me, I have not seen this maker that often
I've never seen a chinstrap like that before, but I'm sure the experts on here can fill you in on this. Looks ok otherwise , but I'm no expert.

Hat is a good wartime private-purchase piece.
It also has the rare 2-piece frosted Officer's eagle.
Chinstrap appears to be pigskin, and it seems to fit the cap, so it may be original.

At first I didn't like the cap, but after SMs comment I can now see how it is indeed a private purchase piece.
Depending on the price I would grab it, maybe the chinstrap is a period replacement, they do break.
If the price is right it would definitely be worth going for overall the hat is very nice
