Hi Jamie..
Both look imo good.. but a minefield i think..
I think that 185€ and 170€ are high prices for them..
And funny the dealer has 15-20 police eagles at the same time
Read in the 80'ties they produced very very good copies of these.. and seen a couple of them that for sure would fool me...
He has many scarcely encountered sleeve eagles!
Maybe someone can give a 100% thumps up on them...
If i was missing one for a tunic i would buy one of them
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
Here is one of my early, 1936 sleeve eagles for a Gendarm.
Comparing my birdy with the Arnsberg that Marco has, it does seem good.
However, you are both obviously aware of his site (IMO, i.e., hardly worn etc etc...) and thankfully I'm not desparate for one of them, I just don't have that particular version of sleeve eagle.
Also, I grudge paying 180 euro plus postage for something that is worth 130.
Cheers, JD
Quite right Jamie, "slowly slowly catchee monkey" as the saying goes!
That's a nice Ansbach patch you have there. These are the only polizei cloth badges I have apart from Bundesrepublik types;
Regards
Mark
PS The old saying "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, the chances are that it is a duck" seems apt here!

The two posted are real, the construction and cloth used always helps a lot. Here you have that green cloth (grun-meliert) usually used on FallschirmJäger cloth. The white backingcloth is also a good sign.
