Info on two ground dug Soviet (?) WW2 items

Thanks Alex! I was in fact wondering about just that when the button turned up today! It would mean a lot to get this verified as this would mean we have a new group (nationality) of soldiers in the German WW2 transition camp.

Button is polish pre war jacket button. The messkit bottom is soviet M36 type or german M31 type.

Considering the attachment for the handle of the mess kit, it is German.
