I assume this pic is ww2 vintage ,,i only have reference and a drawing of a similar russian detector from a 1970s dated document stating the search head could be mounted on a 3 section metal or wooden pole or a rifle,The locator in my reference is the model VIM 203M,

I have some limited info on this model, but it is in one of our club magazine from the last eight years. It might take me some time to find it.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hi Wittman

From the osprey book on russian rifleman, the caption reads to the same picture you have

"a VIM 210 mine detector fitted to a mosin nagant rifle. A 3 section aluminium pole was also provided"

sorry, thats all I know too.

Then try to search the right way

    Миноискатель ВИМ-210

Well, even the right way you will not find too much information, but yet it is more than nothing! Some photos in here:

    pictures_of_war: ??????? ?????????? ? ????? ??? .

Here a scan from old VIM manual:

    Âèíòîâêà Ìîñèíà è ñïåöèôèêàöèè ê íåé ñòðàíèöà 2 - Guns.ru Talks

    and etc. Search in Russian.
