Answering my own question, I found out that this is a Yugoslavian officers buckle.
Welcome to the forum,
This is not Soviet / Russian but it is WWII period. It is a Yugoslavian Army officers belt buckle and the date on the front (29.XI.1943 ie 29 Nov 43) is the Yugoslavian Republic Day.
You can find these fairly easily and for a mint example I would expect to pay somewhere around $30 US. This one would naturally attract less.
Still an interesting piece so thanks for showing.
Are you a collector or just trying to identify stuff you have turned up?
Regards
Mark
