    This looks very much like mine, except that my holster is a darker leather, although mine has been oiled (the leather).

    My holster was manufactured in the 50s, but is identical to one that a friend has dated 1938. So, I would say it is basically a GPW style holster.

    look very closely for a stamped 'Leitz' mark on the inside flap (impression stamp NOT ink). My guess is immediate post war (late 1940s) made holster

    I know that mine is a Soviet made holster, and there are no cartouches on the inside of the flap.

    How can you be sure? I had one same color as this, same cut and stiching, made in Lietz in the 1940s for SOVIET use, but clearly made in the soviet zone of occupation of Germany. Plus this one also matches the ones made into the 1970s marked in Leningrad. I'd say almost assuredly post war and perhaps not even made inside the USSR.
