War time Russian wine/champagne bottle?

Hi.
Just found this in a old household.
Have never seen a WWII Russian examples. Could this be one? I presume 42 is the date? Shade of the glass is same that you can see on some glass field bottles.

Hi Kass.

Difficult to say what the bottle contained. I would imagine that the embossed letters on the bottom refer to the manufacturer of the bottle not the retailer. Most Champagne bottles I have seen have a kick at the base. It looks to be cork closure with a raised rim for securing a wire. Perhaps it contained cider or beer? Certainly looks period though.

Yes the letters indicate bottle manufacturer.

Your bottle is made on "Konstantine mechanized bottle plant" - К.М.Б.З., perhaps, as far as I understand, in 1961 (61 at the top).
