Here is a RPG-40 WW2 hand grenade i bought today for a forum member. I will have it here for a short period of time so i want to post some pics for all to see. They are somewhat rare because of the thin material they are made of. This one is cleaned and preserved with bees wax. Very nice item IMO.

Nice mate, not seen this type before. Is it not RGD rather than RPG?

Very nice item. In use with the German army, the grenade was called "Handgranate 338(r)". What is the opening on top for? I see the trigger pin is still in place, just missing the canvas ring.

    It's for the detonator delay.

    And detonator of course

Very nice, Lars. I have a few parts of those lying around. Does bees wax preserve longer than ren wax?

I don't know Ren wax (have not tried it) but bees wax is fine. Neutral, natural and cheap. It has to be heated up of course. Apply with brush. You can "thin" the wax with olive oil. Maybe other oils will do as well. I know some prefer bee wax over Ren wax.
