I wish you the best on your up coming surgery. So sorry to hear about your unfortunate accident.
I remember when I had surgery on my right hand and was forced to use my left hand.
Let me tell you there are things you never tried with your left hand, BUTT now were forced to use a hand that was not trained in the art of ass wiping.

Needless to say I am now ambidextrous!!!!

My biggest fear last 6 weeks was accidently injuring my good arm. Then what ? It can happen because one may have a tendency to over use the good arm or use it in ways you don't normally operate. So one must be diligent in thinking before any activity which is not easy. Just putting on a T-shirt or something simple like shaving is difficult. So be careful

Another F---ing foot of snow today.

I've finally got to the point that I can move my right arm a bit without too
much pain although I still can not raise my hand above my shoulder. So
trying to shovel the car out of the snow was enough to bring tears to my eyes.

I like to think that I have a pretty strong pain thresh hold. I even once put a half dozen
stitches in my own arm but today's adventure just about did me in.
