d'alquen, you have shown us some very nice caps, thanks for sharing.
Is it possible to see the whole em/nco's cap you posted last?
It looks to be in a little bit better condition than my cap.

Thanks to d'Alquen for his kind aid. There is also the case of caps that had their badges changed in the III. Reich, as possibly with this cap here, that I have shown elsewhere. Surely the Hoheitszeichen was added ca. 1936ish. I actually own a number of caps where it is obvious the badges were updated with new regulations. How does such a thing figure into the hierarchy of the collector's dictum of "100% untouched...."? Also, notice that these badges do not match in terms of finish and whatnot. I do not think they were made by the same contractor, either. The whole cap is too fragile to manhandle, so it remains as it is. It is a Kupper cap.

Here is the requested interior shot. Nothing special or unusual. Just a plain interior, no diamond and the amount of wear you would expect from a hat worn through at least a couple of rank upgrades.

I was half expecting to see a makers mark inside this one because of the smooth gabardine material. Great looking cap. The piping is white but heavily stained I take it, not faded yellow?

The piping on the upgraded cap is indeed white. I suspect the staining is nicotine. Under the overhang the piping is pure white.
Here is another set of badges that were definitely on the hat when it was brought back by a Canadian vet.

Really nice patina on that Deschler. I think the practice of wearing the heer eagle was more commonplace than we give credit to nowdays. I certainly think it's a better design for a visor cap.

I know that both I and Mr Bwanek are thrilled when a set we have can find a new home on an original cap that have its insignia set missing.
    Just wanted to tell you.
(This is a former Zimmermann set of mine. I believe the new owner is very happy with it.)
