Hi, and welcome to the forum!
Sorry this is a poor fake. All the markings are bogus.
I have moved your thread into the cap insignia forum. Have a read here.
Cheers, Ade.

As Ade said, a very poor fake. It's actually marked 800 silver and yet it's still covered in green corrosion?? Sorry,D...a Bad one.

I had a feeling it wasn't real. I have had two separate people appraise it and they couldn't tell me anything. I appreciate guys.

Being new to collecting what are some tips you pros would give me in spotting this as a fake? Thanks in advance.

This can be a 'minefield' and a huge drain on your wallet if you are not careful
to learn all you can before buying items. There are original SS cap
badges shown within the forum threads to compare.........
Regards,
Steve.
Still learning myself but the SS runes marking is always a dead giveaway for a fake.
yes, look at the good examples on the forum and check out details... the sutures in the skull surface (which are wrong here), the prong attatchments and... like the guys (with vastly more experience than i) have said... those marks are no good.
these are reasonably expensive items and hopefully it did not set you back much.
