Bear in mind Germany was decimated in 1945. Factories lay in ruins, records destroyed. What paperwork which was not lost then, was quickly "lost" by former makers keen to loose any association with their Nazi past.

But new info is still however coming to light today, which 20 years ago was not around. So who knows what might still be discovered.

    Cheers, Ade.

As just one simple example , this Luftwaffe Flakabzeichen came from a Canadian veteran , along with other goodies he had picked up in Holland ( nice ! ) .
NO makers mark , but encountered in many other veteran finds of undoubted provenance . Untill the exact same type is found maker-marked , it is simply referred to by collectors as the " ball-hinged " variety .
We may never know the maker , but we do know it is a period item . Same goes for what is known as " the unmarked skull " , which BTW does have the CORRECT typical finish & pins ..

    I agre witch Ade.
Anyway I dont want to say any unmarked badge or skull are fake .
I have Latvian SS skulls and they are unmarked.
But they are a dugs founded by different people in different places during many years
Im only suspicious about not marked skuls if they are not a dugs.
They could be orginal but they could ba a fake either.
Here are a example of orginal unmarked SS Latvian skull.
In the future I will post more of them
    Thanks
    Peter

I thought the prongs on the skull in the OP didnt look as 'fat' as on most fakes.
    Good to get it verified.
