How bad of a fake is it 499/41

I've had this skull for 2 years a have always thought it was a fake. I did not pay anything for it so no lose. I just do not how bad of a fake it is so tell me what am look at for it to be a fake. Marty

If you look in the SS cap badge threads, you can see many real insignia, and you will rapidly see that your object does not match the appearance, quality, etc. of an original.

Many of these badges of war time make, with the VA contract number, are cupal, i.e. an alu cooper alloy of high quality. They are unmistakable and the fakes are usually much inferior in the Werkstoff.

No it's metal, looks like copper or brass under the top finish
