    this one is unfinished. It's the only skull without the maker known. The prongs aren't placed like this one must be. But I like It.
    Is also very rare, I own myself two of those. Here's some pic's of that model:

    Most collector's associated this type as a Deschler die, but It's not correct. But I know why, look at this skull has prong attachment like a Deschler one (discs). I think yours meant to be attached on seomething else than on a visor due to that particular prong attachment.

    That is what I used to think, too. When I first saw one of these, I guessed that some of the unfinished TKs left over in the factory after the war had been hastily completed by adding that simple pin, so that they could be sold/bartered with GIs who were looking for souvenirs.

    However, Bob Hritz stated that he believes these were a complete original variation, which he has encountered on caps. It appears that the closed eyes/nose and the simple pin may have been a short-lived attempt to make production simpler/cheaper.
