Skull of course ist orginal.
I think those type skulls exsist in two patterns
First pattern as CBH show on his skull and second pattern skull ist like mine.
They exist in the same time.
Stuka you are right on back of the skull still is visible 3 attachment points.
I dont wanna clean this skull.
On whole surface its brown green patin
Those bright small round points its a orginal colour of metal -ligt gold (those points are not covered by patin)

A good looking skull and I am also someone who would like to add one of these to my collection, though I don't understand why you posted it in the SS section as it is WWI or earlier.

Jerry you are right.
Maybe this is wrong section for this type of skull.
But from another side here are looking all skull maniacs.
History of this type skull started circa 1741 by Friedrich II Great
One of the first was 5 Hussarian Regiment
Guys my poor Englisch language its not so good to explain to you abot geneanology of skull insignia,but belive me this is very very interesting story
