Hi Gents,

Pictured this one by a friend of my. I have my doubts if it's real or not.
I have seen a few of the same buttons these were all fake.

Are all the 155/38 marked buttons fake. Because all what I have seen with this markings are fake.

There are indeed real SS buttons with this marking, which I generally find on black uniforms as buttons. Such buttons are devoid of decoration. They are matt with pebbling of either the SA or military type. The issue is the button used on the side cap, in fact, where specifically this type, with its construction, appearance, etc. is very fake.

Mr. Carlsson will show us some real examples. There is a later variety with a more cartoon like Totenschaedel, but it is likely from another contractor.

Here is a real button of the ca. 1937-1938 type.

The later cap, in the Fliegerschnitt, can be found with the button and the eagle, and it tends to have a different pattern of Totenkopf.
