Looks ok.
Im no expert on SS insignia, and although it looks nice , there appears to be some very rough edges to the rear, which i would not have expected to see, but ill wait to hear from the true experts on this, if it proves to be real, then its another reference point to take on board
Not Original.
looking at the back does not show much detail
Regarding the back and lack of detail. This is not a problem. Different makers badges had very different backs to them.
Cheers, Ade.
It's the front that tell's everything actually. This how a M1/17 looks like..
look at the head, breast-feathers etc etc.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
carlsson1982, the one I posted looks to actually have more detail than the one you posted. Is that normal with a repro? I'm used to fakes having too little detail when compared to an original due to the whole process of reproducing items like these.
Also, can you help educate me a little? Obviously you know your version to be the original over the one I posted so what are the tells specifically? In other words, how do you know yours is the original and the one I'm looking at is the repro?
Thanks!
Actually, I like the back of your eagle, It's well detailed, but still not original. The most obvious things to spot is on the front. Look at the pic here. Iam juxtaposing some originals with yours. The front of your eagle is also found on the fake ss 475/43 eagle and other's.Yours should be also a rather heavy piece. Look at the beak, some front feathers are disshaped..etc.
