hi guys, just picked up this Cap Eagle in excellent condition. Not sure about authenticity, but i counting on you to provide insight as always. It is stamped RZM on one wing and what looks like 24 on another.
Thanks as always

It is original, but not necessary SS. It was also used for other organisations. (maker is Overhoff & Cie)
I agree.
To tell it is SS is to make money.
This type of eagle was worn with the headgear by most of the TR organizations, so including
of course the SA and HJ, but also Reichsbahn, Stahlhelm, Reichsluftschutzbund, forestry or whatever.
So in fact 80-90% or more of all German organizations.
This one has the prongs in a different position then normal, but that is not unusual with an Overhoff
eagle. The position for the 24 and RZM sign are okay!
Reichsbahn:
Reichspost:
Forst:
Also for these organizations the eagle officially should be marked with RZM.
Hi, commonly used on early SS VISORS and hand painted Swaz.
So wonderful for us all that Wim shares his encyclopaedic knowledge with such generosity.
Thank you guys, and knowledge is always appreciated for a newbie like myself. I learn and continue to learn a great knowledge from all of you as well as from different threads. Thank you all again.
Dmitry
