    Hi,

I would like to get your opinion on this piece. It's my first SS insignia and I'm not 100% sure of the prongs.

Hi, looks very close, I am not sure of the prongs, the original examples I have seen have flat style prongs attached in different spots, not to say it is not good, but....

    Hi,

Thanks Kevin. I am also not 100% convinced with the prongs so I would definitely appreciate getting opinions on them as well as the overall piece.

I haven't seen these prongs on this type of early tk..
also, the lack of patina would be discouraging to me.
I'm not an expert, so I am possibly mistaken.
    best regards,

Thank you Paul for your post.

I did see another one example with similar prongs (photo below), but as you can see, they are at the same height, where as the prongs on the one in my first post are in diagonal. I'm confused.

Hi, 2nd skull shown in post #5, shows prongs attached where I have seen, but have never seen these style of big, fat prongs, on an original. Back to first skull, has an overall "new" appearance IMO.

Indeed - I decided to stay away from this item and should be getting my money back soon.

Thanks again for the feedback. I had doubts from the beginning but I was really hoping that it was an exceptional mint of some sort. In the end I had to let common sense prevail.

You don't see anything wrong with the prongs at all as well as the overall finish?

Carlsson is quite exceptional when it comes to authenticating original ss items. Hang around, see what he says. He may even have photos of original examples with this type of set up. K
