SS totenkopf pin/badge authentic?

I am wondering if this pin is authentic? No expert, just wanted a few opinions from a few folks a lot more knowledgable than me about this type of relic.

The 155/38 mark is also a dead give away. This mark can well be found on Hoheitszeichen for the SS, but not, in my experience, for the Totenschaedel.

Ah, I see! It's a lot easier to make the comparison to authentic ones. An old friend of mine picked this up from another 'collector'. I was never to sure what the markings on it were. Many thanks!
