Interesting staining to the reverse. Almost looks like a chemical residue?

Finally. Hard to find good items in a sea of so many fakes. I understand the golden rule is to not clean relics but what do you thing about this eagle? Same rule applies or a little touch up wouldnt hurt?

It's down to the base metal for the most part anyway, attempting to clean it won't make it shiny and silver again.
My advice would be to leave it exactly as it is and not even attempt to do anything. It's not dirty, just worn.
