    A fascinating photo, for sure. The collar tab indicates the 20th Estonian Freiwilligen Division,(there were numerous variants of this collar tab) but look at the guy Wearing it-he looks like a 12 year old kid?? Maybe this was some sort of Estonian SS Youth group? As for the cap skull, I imagine that it, too, would be an Estonian made cap badge. Very unusual, in any case, and if offered for sale, would undoubtedly be denounced as bad today.

    It's the "Tartu skull"(Latvian) made of thin bendable material (alum.).

    Hi guys
    This is not Latvian skull.
    Latvian skulls look different.
    This is Estonian type skull probbably produced in Tartu.
    Tartu its a city in Estonia
    Here are pics of Estonian type skulls.
    Im not sure from this pics they are made from Alu alloy.
    For me this is not Alu material
    Latvian type skulls are made from Alu
    Later I will post Latvian type skulls to compare

    Here are Latvian type SS skull.
    They were made from Alu
    This example belongs from someone who was a member of 15. Waffen Grenadier Division der SS. ( Lettische Nr 1 )
    Pls notice a difference
    As a promised, letter I will post more Latvian type SS skulls.

    Peter, How did the Estonian skull in the original post's photo attach to the cap? Do you have any photos of the reverse side of one with the attachment pieces still intact?

    This picture explains It. The prong was bent in the center and soldered on the skull.

    This style of fixing is typical for Soviet cap star: indeed that is what the manufacturer might have been making a couple of years earlier.......They would do what they were used to.
