¿What do you think about it? Strange Totenkopf...

Hello...

First of all, sorry for my poor english...

Many years ago, an argentinian friend takes me this insignia from Buenos Aires. A friend of him gives this totenkopf as a gift, saying that comes from his grandfather, that comes from Germany in 1950's. In fact, he shows him an entire uniform, a head cap, strap, boots, a Luger... Very impressive.

It was broken, and I made a (bad) restauration, as you can see in the lower right bone. Since now, I assumed that it was am authentic WWII item. But reading this (excellent) forum, I saw that the headbadges are very different to this item.

What do you think about it?

Hi Manuel,i'm sorry to say that I agree with the others(and I am no expert on these SS skulls!) It looks as though it is a very poor metal cast,that has then had the reverse ground down. I have never seen anything like it. Leon.

Sorry Manuel, Not an authentic piece. It looks to be a crudely cast piece and is definitely not genuine.
