How Tragic to see a group of varied flags wiped off the face of history ...usually once in a while we may see 1 or 2 on rare instances...here in this room ..the history is breath taking.

Shame to destroy them though, history cant and shouldn't be erased, what would be the value of all these ?

There is hope now, as when one of them was sold by a dealer, it might
be possible also the others are or were sold elsewhere. The one offered
by victor-gross had a price-tag from over 3,000.- euro's. It was
sold included pole and top. If the pole was original I cannot remember
anymore. He had some, but others were made for him, he had told me
once.
In post 1 I said the former owner Manfred Brüch did not make close-ups
or send me photos from the flags, but from some he did apparently.
From those mentioned in post 9. I do have photographs from most of the
corner patches. Manfred made them for me, as I was researching for an article
about DAF flags, which was published in the German "Militaria"-magazine
from Patzwall.
The first part for the article was published in 2003. Parts 2 and 3 during the
same year. So, I must have received the photos in 2001 or 2002. I am getting
old I think. I could not remember, but checking my files I found out now Manfred
even did send me detailed information for all of the DAF flags with sizes and
other interesting facts!

I guess this will happen to many collections in the future.

Wim I truly hope they all survived and weren't destroyed by reactionaries.
I too am haunted by a collection of local man who died suddenly in a car crash, he collected all his life married late and never sold or traded anything. He started collecting in the early 60's when things where plentiful around here. It's been over five years now since his passing, everything is sitting in a basement hidden away. I've contacted his widow and despite early signs she was willing to part with it, nothing ever happened. She when as far as saying "He'd be happy I got his collection" but then silence. It just goes to show there are treasures out there still waiting to be discovered.

Post 9: I promised to add some of the corner-patches.
I could not find all, but the mayority I can show.

Even if the family didn't approve, to simply destroy so much money (and spit on the collection of their relative) is just a great shame.
