The Sturmfahne of the 4th Sturm, 75th Standarte, Bremen, Gruppe Nordsee. Embroidered across the top of the flag is the name "Wilhelm Decker." Decker was a young S A mann killed by members of the Red Front during a Putsch Commemoration March on 9 November, 1931. His Sturm was attacked by around 200 Red Front members. During the brawl, Decker was slain and the Sturmfahne blood stained and badly damaged.
The flag was restored with the aid of netting and the Sturm was awarded the honor title, " Wilhelm Decker." The early original corner patch is the one in brown with the green lettering, the 1931 Gausturme colors for Bremen. Over the years, the Sturm, along with other units, were absorbed. However, the Ehrensturmfahne was still carried as a solemn relic of the time of struggle.

Another beautiful piece from the Alter Kämpfer time. This place has truly become an A+ forum. Thank you for showing Bob. I can really feel those 80 years of history from behind my computer screen by just looking at the flag...
The most important SA Sturmfahn I have ever had the priveledge to see.

Yes, a very cool flag, every time I see it I wish I had
bid more for it on eBay at the time. Sad story about
the collector who owned it, and lost it and many others
for not paying his storage unit bill, so the antique dealer
told me while it was listed on eBay - back before their
no swastika flag allowed policy due to the French suit
against Yahoo.
While surfing some sites, I found a grouping belonging to a SA Oberfuhrer of Marines from Gruppe Nordsee. The man was a recipient of the GPB. Among the items of his was the enclosed picture of him taking his oath while grasping the Wilhelm Decker flag. It also shows the flag before it was damaged. Unfortunately, the grouping was on hold. I will ask the dealer when the owner joined the SA as it may assist in discovering when the flag was damaged.
